Skin Rejuvenation

1. What is Skin Tightening?

Skin tightening is achieved through microneedling. A device covered with tiny needles is used to poke holes in the skin's surface. This prompts skin to stimulate collagen production, fill fine lines & plump the skin; giving a more youthful look.

2. How does it work?

Microneedles work by producing thousands of microscopic needle holes in the dermis, which prompts the skin to produce new collagen and elastin and generate new cells. The needles open thousands of channels into the skin through which you can infuse products such as chemical peels and PRP to enhance the skin. This creates damage without removal of the healthy epidermis, which means the healing time is rapid and does not cause any comparable discomfort.
During treatment the skin is gently punctured with tiny needles to create a wound healing response which will act to stimulate new collagen fibers. This will increase type 3 collagen to remodel the thickness, create tightening and improvement of the condition of the skin in these areas. The needle reaches through the epidermis to stimulate fibroblasts and keratinocytes to renew collagen. It also results of thickening within the stratum spinosum. In addition to stimulating collagen growth, microneedling also creates channels through which any substance applied to the skin's surface (known as topical application) can be absorbed far more easily and rapidly. It is the skin's job to keep foreign material out and piercing this shield works well in breaking down that barrier for a limited time.

3. Pre-Treatment Care

To reduce the risk of bruising, do not take any anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications for 1 week before the treatment. This includes Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil and Antihistamine Medications.

Do not schedule microneedling before an event. Allow at least 7 days before any major events in case if any redness occurs.

4. Post-Treatment Care

Avoid thermal trauma such as hot showers, whirlpool, steam rooms, saunas, ect. for 2 days following treatment.
Do not take any anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications for 1 week following treatment. This includes Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil and Antihistamine Medications.
