Lip Fillers

1. What are lip fillers?

Lip fillers give you fuller, plumper, and more defined lips by using materials that are made of Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that is naturally produced in the body. Once injected into the skin, it is slowly broken down over a period of months. There are many different types of fillers available that can be injected into your lips.

2. How does it work?

A numbing cream is applied over the lips before injecting the area with additional numbing solution. Receiving two forms of numbing ensures minimal discomfort. The filler is gently injected with a super fine needle into the lips. The filler immediately plumps, adds volume, and defines the shape of your lips.

3. How long does it last?

Results typically last 3 to 8 months depending on the individual and product selected. It is highly recommended that treatments are performed on a regular basis to maintain full natural lips. If treatments are discontinued the lips will return to how they appeared pre-treatment.

4. What types of lips can Lip Fillers treat?

5. Pre-Treatment Care

To reduce the risk of bruising, do not take any anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications for 1 week before the treatment. This includes Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil and Antihistamine Medications.

Do not schedule injections before an event. Allow at least 10 days before any major events in case of any bruising or swelling occurs.

6. Post-Treatment Care

There is typically a period of swelling in the first 24-48 hours where the lips become swollen. During this period, the lips will become larger than the final result. Icing during and after the procedure helps minimize the swelling. Most patients are able to return to work the next day or after treatment.

Do not rub or apply firm pressure to the lips for 24 hours following treatment. Avoid activities that involve lying faced down, such as physiotherapy treatment or massages.
Gently apply cold compresses to the lips immediately after injections and repeatedly for the first 24 hours. Icing the lips in 15 minute intervals minimizes the swelling.
Sleep with your head elevated the first night after injection to reduce any swelling in the lips.
Avoid exercise and strenuous activity for the first 24 hours after injection.
Swelling and bruising of the lips may occur. This may last a few days, and can be covered with long-lasting Flawless Lipstick.
Avoid thermal trauma such as hot showers, whirlpool, steam rooms, saunas, etc. for 2 days following treatment.
Do not take any anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications for 1 week following treatment. This includes Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Advil and Antihistamine Medications.

It is recommended to wait a couple of hours before eating to allow the anesthetic effect to wear off. This ensures that you do not accidently bite or burn your lip.

7. How is it priced?

Lip filler is priced per syringe. Prices vary depending on the type of filler selected.
